Last week I tried to port my phone over from Cricket to Verizon with a prepaid plan and originally thought it was working. I can text and call numbers and can receive texts. However, I get no incoming calls, no incoming voicemails, and some numbers I can't send texts to. At https://www.verizon.com/switch-to-verizon/check-status/, the status is in progress and states I just need to reset my phone, but I've done that many times with no success.
Furthermore, I can't create an account with the associated number as it is not recognized as a "Verizon number". Any chat assistance gets redistributed to another service, and any phone call deals with the AI assistance who redirects to Verizon digital assistance which asks for a user login... I can't schedule a call either since I can't receive incoming calls.
At this point I just want to cancel the plan but I can't even figure out how how to do that and I want to ensure that my number will be able to move to another provider and isn't trapped with Verizon since Verizon will likely say its not even a Verizon number. Any tips on how to restart the porting process, get in touch with a helpful agent, finish the porting process, or just get out of this mess would be greatly appreciated.
