I had to send my main s24 ultra in for repair. Before I did I activated an old s20+ so that I had cell service. I did this over the phone. Upon getting back my s24 yesterday I tried to do the exact same thing in reverse (activate the esim on my s24u and disconnect the S20+ backup phone). BUT instead, the rep disconnected my backup phone AND didn't activate the esim on my main phone!! And then the call got disconnected!
I then spent 3 hours until 12pm at night on the phone (using WiFi because now neither phone is active) trying desperately to activate my main phone that just came back from repair & turn off my backup phone. I was disconnected 2x, transferred 4x only to be told I am now FORCED to drive 2hrs round trip to a store to unlock & activate the phone since I can't get the 2nd verification text mssg since no service! I also have NO PHONE SERVICE in case of emergency on a phone that did!
So vzw created this mess, disconnected a phone that was activated and working fine didn't connect the phone I needed connected and now has forced me into a loop I can't get out of unless I drive out of the mountains over an hour one way through a canyon simply to a store simply to show my ID & prove I am who I am to then reactivate my phone. This means I also have no working phone so should something happen before I get to that store I can't call anybody or do anything for help.
They apparently have no way in place - because of the required text message verification to make account changes - to fix their error over the phone you can only do this physically added actual corporate store. That's crazy!
