What can I do to get a new ONT box?

- I can't get no "real person" or "chat with us" never arrives to an answer.

- Calling real-person always hangs up my phone after a minute

- Chat with us always loops me, never helpful

FIOS has been working well last 1 year.

All of a sudden, ONT keeps on flashing Data, I keep having to

- restart ONT multiple times a day

- run Verizon Support app multiple times a day

- this app sometimes fixes and sometimes don't

Is the issue with the ONT? I have been using Verizon provided router, as well as my personal one to troubleshoot. It's the ONT. It just gets no data once in awhile.

What ONT model do you have? On the newer black NOKIA ONTs (I-211m-l) the DATA Light going out usually indicates a bad Ethernet connection.

The more important thing to look at on the ONT is whether the "FAIL" light is coming on, or if "NWRK" and "MGMT" are going out. FAIL lighting up or NWRK/MGMT going out usually indicates a problem with the Fiber. If you spot that happening, call Verizon and skip past the automated "Reboot your equipment" prompt by pressing 0 or by saying Agent, since you've already done that.

If possible, don't forget to try another Ethernet cable between your ONT and router. Use a quality CAT5e or CAT6/CAT6a cable. It's possible for cables to degrade or for the terminations to break down. The cables are a couple dollars at Best Buy or an Office supply store if you only need a cable that is a couple of feet long.
