I only am supposed to have home internet. Why is there a phone number on my account that is not my phone number? I have a different phone service.
The Verizon 5G Home Internet service is using cellular technology, and thus is tied to a real (but not usable for anything else) phone number. Your Verizon Account Number will be something else.
It is understandable that seeing a random looking phone number is confusing and off-putting, however, have no worries. It's a completely normal part of having Internet service provided over cellular networks.
We want to ensure that everything is correct on your account. Home Internet devices are assigned a phone number to be associated with that device and service on the account so that is likely the reason for this. However, it is not used for calling but just to identify that device line on the account. This is primarily to distinguish different devices/lines when there are multiple ones on an account. However, if this is not the case then we are standing by for further assistance here. -Sean
