I have been getting flooded with robocalls ("calling party hung up") coming from spoofed numbers. At one point up on to 10/day. Reporting and blocking them through the Verizon app has done nothing to stop the calls, as I'm just reporting and blocking numbers that don't belong to the actual caller, who will just grab a new number to spoof and call again, so I started calling them back and confronting them myself.
Sometimes I get through to a person in some call center. Just now I received the automated Verizon message noted in the subject line.
On a different post from 2021, someone from Verizon said one of the reasons for that message has to do with (I'm paraphrasing from memory, as I can't go back without losing this post) "the number that routed the call through the number that showed up on my caller ID might be busy or not set up to receive calls."
My question is: If Verizon can detect if a call is being routed through a different number, why can't I block ALL calls being routed through a different number?
Please, no LLMs or scripted sympathetic responses. I don't care where on the planet you are located or if English is their first or second language, I just want to converse with someone who can fix this issue.
