So I had T mobile home internet which the customer service is great but the Internet itself wasn't so I was looking for another service. I'm a single mom & low income so I searched low income Internet in my area n Verizon came up for $24.99 which I thought would be great. You ASSUME they would have great wifi, ect being a big company & around for yrs - boy was I wrong. I fill everything out online n there's some type of "activation fee" for $100 which it says would be waived considering it's low income, and my total was $24.99 at the end BUT in the corner very small it says "deposit fee $100" which is very misleading. You ASSUME that's the waived $100 but Ooh NOO people, this is ANOTHER sneaky, deceitful $100 for a deposit, which I have no clue why you are charging anyone especially low income ppl $100 deposit??( T-Mobile sent me my modem within a day, and charged me $40 AFTER A MONTH which was wonderful, I was impressed with their service but the Wi-Fi is just awful in my area) So I was beyond confused Verizon is actually doing. I get a bank notification saying $100 was taken n I'm like what is this? I thought this was $24.99?? So I call to find out. I get pushed off onto 4 different people, nobody can tell me why, nobody can find me in the system regardless of me having a set up # and a date for "installation" the next day. I was on the phone for 3 hours n I got so mad I just told them to completely cancel it n give me my deposit back...ANOTHER hour, and then they tell me it will be 7-10 days for my refund, they need to contact the bank? What? Here we are 9 days later n AGAIN nobody can find me in the system, I'm transfered to 3 other ppl, I have a customer #a set up # from that day & a "customer resolution complaint ticket" # from the day they said I would receive a refund but they need to "talk to the bank first " is what I was told..? What like nobody does that, 7-10 days for a refund is absurd. I had to file with the BBB & the FCC because of this n STILL I get a call from a Verizon person who says my complaint was filed in the wrong department bc Verizon has literally 100 departments so they can transfer you all dang day. So now I'm waiting AGAIN to see if these people will ever give me my deposit back, what month this will be and what next department I will have to contact, transfer to, or refile with BBB. Who knows. All I know is this is THE WORST company I have ever dealt with in my life. They have way too many departments, with people that are incompetent, are not trained properly and have no idea how to correct any issues within their own company. I would be embarrassed if my company ran like this. If T-Mobile gets their Wi-Fi together n has better connections, they will surpass Verizon within a year bc let me tell you their prices are right, customer service is great, and I had absolutely no issues besides my WiFi disconnects from time to time but my son plays video games n CRIES when this happens. I ended up buying Xfinity just the " mobile Xfinity NOW" it's just pop up wifi service for traveling BUT it works everywhere & it's only $10 for a month. I found great service for $10 now n that's the best part of all this so if you are low income DO NOT try this $24.99 from them it's absolutely NOT TRUE, they try to hit you w a bunch of fees $100, PLUS your $24.99 when you can grab Xfinity Mobile for $10 if it works in your area, try it, it's worth a shot. I've been using it for a week now bc Verizon made my account go into the negatives pulling this trick, so I had to think quick n see if this Xfinity NOW would work n it's been great so ... Verizon is awful And let's hope I someday get my deposit back.
