Don't Update your Gizmo watch. There are a ton of posts like this, but there's an update that will BRICK your Gizmo watch where it will not restart and get frozen on the spotlight. No ability to reset to factory settings on watch or in app because of glitch. Customer service said since it was outside of warranty, so we would have to buy new one. They offered to "waive upgrade fee"....to buy the same exact watch all over again.
If there was physical damage to watch, I would totally own that and I get we're outside of warranty, but this is a manufacturer's software defect. to have a software update do this to their own product and then they won't own up to it is INSANE. i don't want my kid to have an apple watch just yet, and I actually JUST bought a second Gizmo for my other son (luckily still in box), so I guess we'll have to go the Amigo route. Not a great option but anything is better than a company not owning up to their software engineers blunders.
If you post a message about the issue, they quickly respond offering a direct message option to address the problem, which turns into their way of keeping the conversation off the public domain that they won't cover problems they create.
