S23 not downloading / receiving updates

My Galaxy S23 is effectively bricked - I am running OneUi 5.1 / Android 13. My phone is telling me there is a security update - and when I go to update it - the software update cycles quickly and says I'm up to date.

Verizon is telling me this is a Samsung issue. Samsung is telling me "verizon didn't release Android 14 yet" which we all know isn't true - it was launched on May 19, 2023.

I've tried Samsung Smart Switch on my PC and it doesn't give me an option to download new software updates.

I've tried the Verizon Wireless Software Upgrade Assistant - and it won't even recognize my phone as being connected to the PC.

I'm thoroughly frustrated at this point. Any suggestions?

If your Verizon prepaid Galaxy S23 is not updating, this is an issue that may require re-provisioning your account. Prepaid accounts can sometimes get "stuck" and prevent over-the-air (OTA) updates from being properly deployed. The level of assistance you need is only available via our phone support. Please dial 611 from your device, or 888-294-6804 from any phone to get in contact with Prepaid support.

Hello patterson_2384! We can see how this can be frustrating as we all rely on our devices on a daily basis. Does your Samsung device have enough storage to complete the update? Are your apps updating?

yes - i have more than 40gb of space available for the update. my apps are updating (and all up to date)

Was this phone purchased via a 3rd party and/or second-hand? One of the causes of this problem is if certain manipulations were done to the phone...that will stop all updates from being installed and I don't know of any way around it.
