I am extremely disappointed with this "offer" that was presented to me from Verizon when I was debating about whether to purchase FIOS 1 gig plan. I was told it came with a $400 discount code on Samsung products at Best Buy, which was amazing to me b/c I had just moved into a new house and needed new appliances. I was told the purchase needed to be $799 or more to use the code, which made sense, but that was it. No other small details about the offer. Well, after researching for weeks on what Samsung appliance I was going to purchase, I went to several stores before I found the location where I could view it in person. Saw it, loved it, and was ready to purchase my items. The sales people helped me try to purchase it using my discount code, and of course it wasn't working.
Well, after over an hour of trying several different ways to use the code on multiple different devices, we get an error message saying that the items in my cart was not eligible for the promo code. What a racket. Why is Verizon telling potential customers only half the truth about what they are offering? If the promotion was only for a few selected random products, THEN SAY THAT! Don't tell me its all Samsung products if it's not. I just wasted days/weeks researching my appliances and schlepping to several different stores, all while trying to make this huge purchase within the 30 day window they give you to use the code. And after all that, the discount code doesn't work.
I'm so irritated with Verizon and how deceitful they can be when trying to lure in new customers. My purchase would have been well over $800 (more like double that), and the $400 discount would have been a wonderful promotion I would have been happy to spread the word about. But nope, just dupped again by a large company that never tells you the whole truth.
