I purchased the Travel Pass so that I could use my data whenever traveling abroad. When I landed in Turkey, I got the automated message that my Travel Pass had been activated and that I would be charge $12 for each day of usage. However, since I’ve been here I have been unable to use any data. I cannot even access the proper settings on my phone to ensure my roaming is turned on. As a woman traveling alone, this means I don’t have access to navigation, tracking or any internet services while I’m away. When I chatted with a Verizon rep for 2 hours (because you can’t find a number to call), they told me that my only option was to upgrade to a Ultimate Unlimited Plan so that I can use international tall and text. To me, this seems like a way to manipulate people into an up-sale, and at a time where they are most vulnerable. I plan on switching carriers as soon as I get back to the states. Verizon has lost a loyal customer with me.
