I informed Verizon customer service that I wanted the new service line, that I didn't want in the first place, to be canceled on August 18th. This was 1 week after I was unknowingly signed up for it. I was told that I needed to return the watch to cancel the line and was sent a return label. I waited 1 week and the return label did not arrive. I had to call customer service again and request the return label. The day it arrived, I sent the item back in and was told the line cannot be removed until the item was received. I explained that I was worried that I would be charged for this line, since the new bill comes out on the 29th. No problem they said, this is all documented....
I then called in the day it was received and was told I needed to wait 48 hours for the line to be canceled. Again I asked if I was going to be billed for this line I did not want and this watch that I did not have. Again customer service said I would not be charged.
Today I got a notification that my bill was ready and it was $200 higher than expected. I called customer service and they were able to verify that the watch had been received, but couldn't help me because the bill had been posted already.
So I called in to because my device didn't work. Instead of fixing the issue, my bill goes up $200 and I'm expected to pay for another line I didn't want and a device that doesn't work.
How is this legal?
