New To verizon - placed order, hours later order on hold for identity not being able to be verified. I follow the " take action " steps as it says to do to make sure my order isnt cancelled , as a current ATT customer, this seems like when ATT asks me for a selfie and my ID, except they want me to call... so I call the special team at 888-483-7200, and immediatly it was clear this wasnt regular customer service, cause this dude had no customer service. He made me repeat everything i said 4 or 5 times even though it seemed like we are both english speakers and i literally am, never asked to repeat myself with any other customer service so i dont think its me - then while iam expecting to b e asked to provide identification ( again like att who i am currently with ) he tells me my identification couldnt be confirmed ... okay? lets confirm it i say, and the guy got really bad with me. Disrespectful even, told me he wouldnt verify my identity, couldnt tell me more ( as if iam a criminal inpersonating myself ) and then the DUDE HUNG UP ON ME? I am furious!!! Is my money no good to verizon? There IS NO GOOD EXCUSE FOR THIS, besides horrible automation on verizons side, and lazy employees who dont wantr to- help. Ive already read tons of threads on this very fourm as well as reddit with the same exact story... You say you couldnt validate my identity but you never even asked for my documents or proof? thats absurd, nonsense. Frankly... and to hang up on someone who, in the case where youve already taken SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS OF THEIR MONEY and then treat them like this is .... ive never seen this ever. Anywhere. Also i recorded the call and have it on my iphone, its for sure getting posted. Ive already took the liberty of contacting a few organizations about this, after i saw how wide spread this seems to be with verizon and no one else. as ive had all the carriers multiple times. Its nice to switch sometimes... Already got a email back from my MD senator's assistant about the issue and said i havent been the first one whose contact them too which is nuts. Even though the guy told me they wouldnt let me verify myself ( literally no options to fix this ) I still want to figure it out, because, Iam a real person, trying to get a cell line to save some money over my current plan, my credit isnt excellent at all, but verizon and ATT didnt ask for a deposit or anything so good enough... why must i be disrespected and shammed for not being well off.... i pay my cell bills! ALWAYS! Every other cell company turns you down before checkout if there is a problem... is verizon too cheap too invest in those checks? you ran my credit, looked me up in your own data bases and approved, then AFTER I PAY YOU MONEY, sign contacts, VERIZON suddenly doesnt want to honor the contracts i signed? tell me how that works, sounds legally dubious.; ESPECIALY when they claim my identify cant be verified but wont let me verify it. I have until 9/20 before my order i cancelled. Yes they will hold my cash for 5+ days before even thinking about refunding it ( you know a billion dollar company needs that $400 bucks more than me, a working class person does... ) You wont let me verify my identity myself and you also wont just refund me immediatly. Ive already started complaints with goverment , including my reps, and the few national agencys that are supposed to look at for consumers... but it would be great to not need too deal with any of that... VERIZON - let me verify myself., take whatever you need. Dont spit on me and tell me to get a prepaid phone and hang up. Ive been very disrespected. @vzw_customer_support
