I tried to setup Closed Access on Verizon Extender, now it is stuck in Closed with no way to add to user list

I am tired of fighting my neighbors for my own Verizon Extender access, plus it is a security risk, so tonight I went to Verizon's site, went to the Extender page, and selected that I wanted to switch from Open to Closed.

It prompted me to set up a new user list, but I got what I am finding out is the dreaded "The first number you add to the list must be from your account."

I tried my number, my wife's, and my kids' numbers, just 10 digits, no spaces or dashed, and that error comes up.

So searching for a solution, I find out that this function doesn't work, and my best bet is to set the extender's power lower to limit its range. Fine, whatever, however, even though I couldn't set up a Closed User List, it sent the command to the Extender to put it into Closed Operational Mode, and it won't let me get out of it.

So now the extender does NOTHING!

Nobody can connect to it for cell service, Verizon's website errors out when trying to create an access list, and when I try to change the setting on the Verizon website from Closed to Open, it was grayed out because while the device is in Closed Mode, my account is already thinking it is in Open Mode so it won't let me select "Open" and confirm the change.
EDIT: After 30 minutes of messing around, it lets me select Open Mode from my Verizon Devices page, but when I save the setting, it does nothing and resorts back to Closed.

I tried selecting Hybrid mode, but it never sends a signal to the Extender and still errors out when trying to create a priority user list.

This is a new situation...before, the issue was simply getting the "number must be on your account" error message. Someone else reported the broken closed access list thing was being worked on, but it must still be a work in progress which has now bricked your extender. I'd call and ask for level 2 tech support and/or to have a ticket opened. Or see if you can get a replacement extender. Another option is to invest in a 3rd party signal booster system compatible with Verizon, as such systems function by amplifying weak cellular signal as opposed to the Verizon extender working as a mini cell phone tower.

I recall there was another related post where they were able to get a knowledgeable level 2 tech who was able to change the extenders access mode behind the scenes.

I searched and found a post where 'Verizon support had me pull the power, they removed the MAC, then had me power back up. Now, it's back in 'OPEN' mode again.'

Maybe you can get a tech to remove the extenders MAC address from your account and their database and re-add it back. That might reset the access mode to OPEN.

Our cell signal here is almost non-existent. It is like a black hole for cellular service and we live in a well populated area not too far from Disney World in Florida. My wife always tells people that it is like we live in the middle of the mountains with such terrible service (not just Verizon), so a 3rd party booster doesn't have a cell signal to boost.

I will say that I do NOT look forward to the whole debacle of contacting Verizon support. In the past it was painful to get someone to understand a problem and work through it, but I will give them a shot.

You're 0 for 3 in terms of getting any cellular reception with any provider in the Orlando, FL area? This is surprising...I'm guessing you've reported the problem to Verizon in the past so they gave you an extender as a workaround, but sure hope there are plans to improve the network, if it is such a weak area. If you're near one of the lakes, that can definitely cause problems with cellular reception, but I've read elsewhere of others living near bodies of water who could get service with another provider. Makes me wonder if someone nearby is using a device to intentionally block all cellular signal if there is no service whatsoever with anybody.
