Unlimited Ultimate - not working in Paris

I’m in Paris and I’m not able to make calls or get any reliable data with Unlimited Ultimate - or International.

I have spent hours on the phone with customer service only to get the runaround. Anything I can do to troubleshoot or problem solve?

Customer service’s suggestions (e.g. dialing with 011 or 1 as a prefix did not work, and I already checked roaming under cellular settings).

Pretty uspet to spend so much time picking up the pieces for Verizon.

Have you tried switching to a different available network to see if that fixes your service issues? If it was only data you weren't getting, that could be because you used up all the high-speed data allotment (15 gigs/month on Unlimited Ultimate while abroad), but not being able to make any calls suggests your phone is connected to a provider which Verizon doesn't have an interconnection agreement with.

Could you explain (for dummies like me) how I could switch to a different available network?

This depends on what make/model of phone you have...an internet search engine will provide you the instructions. You must also make sure data roaming is on, because otherwise your phone will only want to connect to Verizon's network, which isn't available outside the US.

I have a Samsung phone, and for me this would be under Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > toggle on Data Roaming Access to enable roaming. Then, tap Network Operators > toggle off "Select Automatically" and then choose from the available networks which appear.

If your phone continues to refuse to work no matter what provider's network you choose in France, then you will need to find a landline and call International Service Support at the toll-free number for France: 00 800-50050099.

This number does not work. I am so very frustrated. This has to be a known issue with an easier fix.

Still no resolution from Verizon - only runaround.

This has been happening to me for more than 7months on all international travel. Verizon seems incapable of fixing it. Spent probably 25 hours on support, fighting with trash AI agents, rebooting and changing settings. Literally nothing works. Probably time to change carriers
