Changing Devices while still receiving trade in credits

Hi, my current device is not working properly where I am receiving trade-in credits and there are 11 more payments remaining. I would like to either trade-in this device in apple for a new iPhone or buy a new iPhone without trading my current device. What happens to my credits that I am getting ? Will I still get in both the cases ? I will continue making 11 more payments, but will start using new device.

Current set-up:

iPhone 15 pro with 11 monthly bills left

Change into:

Different phone (continue paying the remaining 11 monthly bills)

Hi, if you swap out the devices while on a contract (in your case, yours is for the trade-in credits), it will break the contract and your monthly credits will stop, plus you will have to pay off the 11 payments remaining on the iPhone 15 by the next billing cycle or 2. If you have insurance, file a claim and see if you can get the phone fixed or maybe a like-new replacement if it is completely broken.

Agreed with above but it sounds strange and unreasonable, right? Verizon is an for profit org, and only exists to make $,

if I were you, I would switch to another carrier that is will to cover your termination fee and remaining balance. If they accept old phone trade in at any condition, then you win big.
