I activated a new iPhone on my Verizon account. No problem. However when I tried to activate the cellular service on a new Apple Watch I met some difficulty. The verification text went to the phone number assigned to another device on my account. By design, I am unable to access those verification texts. After some time with an agent, a supervisor came on the line and informed me that because I had activated my phone that day, that as a fraud precaution, Verizon did not allow verification texts to go to the main number when trying to make additional changes, like activating another device. I was told there was nothing that could be done and to wait a few days and try again.
This seems ludicrous.
Any suggestions?
