I bought a new tablet full price NOT through Verizon. Verizon says they do not lock devices they did not sell, even though the manufacturer said that only the carrier can remove the carrier lock. The rep told me that I was mistaken and that she buys new devices as well and that I do not know the process. I used to work at a carrier, so this patronizing rep just keeps insulting me and told me that they will do nothing since they don't believe there is a Verizon lock. She even refused to get a supervisor. She hung up on me.
