I will be leaving Verizon and I realize corporate couldn't care less, but I just wanted everyone to know why.
My credit card was canceled because of fraud and I was issued virtual cards. Verizon shut off my phone and did not tell me. I spent HOURS trying to figure out what was wrong. I had to wait until I got to work and used their WIFI and on my account all I saw was a little "deactivated " notice.
Because of thier scorched earth policy when it comes to customers attempting to update credit card information, It took me 10 HOURS to update my credit card information. I couldn't get a text from my credit card with a password so I couldn't get a card number. I tried ever way I could think of to get in. I finally had to use my ATM card. When Verizon finally felt I was worthy and gave me back text messages, I went back in and updated my credit card information.
I use my cell for EVERYTHING . I do not have a landline phone or internet access at my home. All contact with the outside world was lost and I had no idea what was going on.
All they had to do was send me a message asking me to update payment information. All they had to do was turn my text messaging on for 5 minutes. But no, they just sat there like a child holding thier breath, arms crossed and stamping thier foot , demanding I find some way to update the information.
I do not even know how long I have been with Verizon. I think 20 years? 30 years? Never considered leaving before. I am searching for a new company now and I do not care if they have better sevice or less expensive, all I care about is they notify me that my credit card information needs to be updated and let me into my account to update it, instead of shuttin off the account, lock the doors, turn off the lights and go home.
Anyone have any suggestions for a new service provider?
