Hi, I posted many months back about my incredible problem with SPAM. I am happy to see that Verizon seems to have enabled call filtering for more customers now, and so i am beginning to take advantage for the feature myself.
i am however running into a problem in that the one of the repeat offenders spamming me is a so-called "shortcode number". the number in question is "23456". It is definitely spam, possibly some kind of swindle, and i am wise enough to not interact with swindlers, and i sort of see it as Verizon's job to take care of this for me(the customer). I have already reported the spam via android-os, and typed the number it into the automated message you get, and my phone recognizes it as spam now, but i still keep getting the messages.
I would really like to fix this, and while call-filtering seems to work on 10-digit numbers, it appears there is a problem doing 5-digit shortcode numbers. i try to report the number, but the page says "Please enter a valid Mdn", and will not accept my submission.
i read in this other post(https://community.verizon.com/t5/Other-Phones-Archive/Blocking-an-SMS-Shortcode-Number/td-p/685336) that there is a way to block shot-codes all together, however i don't think that would work for me since i think i get texts from various places i do business with, including my doctor, and so this would sort of be a problem.
that said, is there a way to block a specific short-code number(like "23456")?
Please help and thanks in advance!
