Dire help with unsuccessful xfer while camping

Terrible coverage camping so tried to switch from ATT to Verizon remotely with my esim. Except Verizon blew it by disconnecting me from ATT and then not connecting me to Verizon. Stuck with only sat SOS, hiked to wifi at ranger station. No go. No wifi calls, since I have no service to verify, can't receive SMS texts and chatbot on Verizon's site won't get me a human, as can't create online Verizon account to talk even though confirmation email says I'm good and so does phone number check for order status. Furious. Help, please???

Sorry to hear your port went awry. You need to find a landline or borrow someone else's phone and call Verizon's Porting Department at 888-844-7095. I've never heard of anyone being able to port their number by themselves; someone with the new carrier has to do it. A new eSIM for Verizon has to be downloaded to your phone as a part of the porting process.
