My parents are moving out of their home and I’d like to port their Verizon landline number to a cell phone on my Verizon wireless account. Can you help?
I am assuming your parents were paying for their Verizon landline under an account of their own before, of which you were not financially responsible. Normally, this type of transaction is called a Transfer of Service, and details for how to do that are below. However, the website only mentions this being done for mobile lines from one account to another, so I am not entirely sure if a landline can be transferred via the Transfer of Service process, or if you must actually port the number to your account as if it were coming from another carrier in order to assume responsibility for it as well as convert it to mobile. Note that prepaid accounts cannot make or accept Transfers of Service. You can also contact the Transfer of Service Team (aka Assumption of Liability Team) at 888-832-4540.
Transfer Service- Overview
If you get told that the landline must be ported as if it were coming from another company in order to convert it to mobile, the Porting Department may be reached at 888-844-7095.
P.S. - I'd change your forum username, as your current one is a privacy and spam risk.
