Is this a gift card you received directly from Verizon as a part of a promotion? What you need to do is put in a manual payment using the gift card. Gift cards don't work with the autopay system.
If you received the gift card from someone else, then it's probably a prepaid reload card which only works for paying bills on prepaid accounts.
Sign in to get the $100 gift card, make sure it is avaible first, then make the payment while statement came out.
