Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone can help because I’m stuck trying to link my new Verizon number to my My Verizon account.
I placed my order as a guest checkout. After I received my phone and had it in hand, I created a My Verizon account using my new phone number.
At first, when I signed in, it showed someone else’s email address on the account/profile. I changed the email to mine, and now the login has my correct email/password. It appears to be the same account now, but when I try to link my number / line, I get an error saying it cannot be linked.
So right now I’m in this weird situation where:
- I can log into My Verizon
- My phone/number is active
- But the number will not link to the account properly
What I’m trying to figure out:
- Is this a common issue after guest checkout + new line activation?
- Could the account/profile still be stuck in some kind of pending state?
- Does Verizon need to reset/unregister the My Verizon profile and relink it on their end?
- Is there another way to get the line linked without the full account number?
Any help, similar experiences, or exact steps that worked for you would be appreciated. I just want to make sure my new phone number and plan are correctly tied to my account.If you want, I can also write a shorter version for a forum post and a more technical version that uses Verizon-specific wording.
