Still true that with two lines on one device using eSIMs - visual voicemail only works on 1 line?

In a 2024 post, Verizon said:

"Visual Voicemail only works on the mobile number that is selected as the primary cellular data line. The non-data line can receive voicemail but does not receive a missed call notification or voicemail alert."

So if I have a business line and a personal line on my phone, I cannot get voicemail alerts for both lines. Is this still true? It totally defeats the purpose of having two eSims on a single phone.

I have an iPhone 17 pro.

You might want to check elsewhere on the internet to see if the iPhone 17 Pro separates your apps for 2 different eSIMs on the device. It did use to be true with some phones that having 2 lines in one phone would give you 2 different voice numbers, but any apps were like the catch-all bucket for both lines and it wasn't separate.

It can also depend on how your second number is configured. If you get the second line under the Second Number promotion, then the second number is a talk/text line only and will not access the internet at all. However, if you have both lines with their own service plan which includes data, then both lines will access the internet.
