VZW spent several weeks trying to port my number in from my previous provider. They gave me a temporary number in the meantime. Upon success of my original number being ported in I was told not to worry abt the temporary number, it will become inactive on it's own. Unbeknownst to me VZW processed that temporary number as a CHARGE OFF account and I OWE COLLECTIONS $1300. I'm only hearing about it now since I've been hitting a roadblock trying to add a second number to my device. It's not another phone, or an additional line of service, but a SECOND number NOT line to my device so I can isolate my personal calls from business calls. My credit has TANKED. Now nobody through VZW knows what is going on and they've never heard of this happening. I call and get transferred to several different ppl and spend a shifts worth of time being redundant and explaining to each rep what happened while they try to talk over me to collect or set up a payment plan.
Does anyone know what I could possibly do next? I'll try contacting the BBB and maybe the FCC, hopefully I can get some answers
