I am writing regarding an abandoned pole-to-pole Verizon cable running across two sides of my property. Verizon has confirmed this line is no longer in use, yet it remains attached to the poles. The cable is drooping across my yard on both sides, and a large tree branch is resting on it, creating a safety hazard on the other side. I am concerned the line could fall or cause damage. Previous attempts to address issues with cables in my yard have been insufficient; trimming or tightening the line does not resolve the hazard or remove the abandoned cable. There are approximately six poles along my property that run the abandoned line. How can I get Verizon to remove this abandoned cable entirely and not simply trim the branch or tighten the abandoned line?
