Looks like this is just a forum for venting. My Fios internet was out this morning, so I called tech support. The automated system told me there were no outages in my area, although from the length of the wait time to talk to a person, I suspect that was a lie. In any case, allowing the system to reset my line only caused it to hang up my phone call, but did not fix the problem, which I initially suspected was a DNS issue, as I was connected but couldn't access any websites. Later, I couldn't even connect to the internet, probably because Verizon was in the process of fixing the problem they denied existed.
When I finally managed to get in the (30 minute!) queue to talk to an agent, I asked the system to call me back when an agent was available. Indeed, I was called back eventually, but that resulted in just getting into another queue! While I was waiting in that queue, the internet problem "fixed itself".
Now, when I called to complain, the automated phone system hung up on me! So I tried the chat feature on verizon.com and managed to chat with what might have been a real person, although AI is getting pretty good these days. Anyway, that's how I ended up in this forum. I don't have high hopes that anything will come of it.
