Need help with reactivating old number, is it possible?

Hi team, I previously had a Verizon number that I transferred to another carrier and cancelled in Nov. I thought I had reset all 2fa and logins to my new number but I missed two for work and financials that I really need access to. If I switch back to Verizon, is there a way to request that very specific phone number? Thanks

If the number does indeed belong to Verizon, then I'd contact Sales at 800-225-5499. Hours: 8 AM - 10 PM ET (Mon - Sat), 9 AM - 10 PM ET (Sun) to ask if the number is available. If it is, then it would be a matter of getting you set back up with said number. If it is not, then you're out of luck.

Phone numbers go up for recycling after 45 days or so. I don't think it matters what carrier, as it will simply be an available phone number for anyone to grab. You could contact your current carrier and ask if the number is available. If it's been given to someone else, then I'd contact the businesses in question explaining the 2FA problem and get a different way to authenticate.

From my research, phone numbers do belong to specific carriers so this number would fall back to Verizon since that’s who the number block belongs to. The question is if I can open a Verizon line and if the customer support team could give me the specific number back.
