Vehicle property damage from low hanging wire

Question

Driving to work this morning, a rotten pole collapsed partially, and I drove into a low hanging wire that I obviously could not see, resulting in damage to my vehicle. Once I struck the pole, it finished pulling the pole down.

There are currently two Verizon trucks replacing the pole as I type this.

A local Police officer can validate everything with his report.

I also contacted my local electric company, but seeing as Verizon is replacing the pole, I believe it is Verizon's responsibility.

I cannot reach anyone via the phone number that can help. The AI chat is garbage.

I have pictures of the rotten pole and obviously the damage to my vehicle.

Someone please help.

You're welcome.  3 hours?  That's sad.  Have you tried social media?  Maybe the people you're getting if you're calling are trying to approach it as if you were a Verizon customer and if you're not, then it's confusing them because they're trying to locate an account which doesn't exist.

Sorry to hear about the damage to your car.  Your best bet would be to contact Verizon via one of their social media channels.  There's also the "contact us" link at the top of the forum page as the CSRs are currently unable to use these forums, but I'm not sure if whomever answers the phones will want your Verizon account information, etc. which is going to be a challenge if you aren't a Verizon customer.
