I’m writing this out of sheer frustration and exhaustion.
I recently had no choice but to completely disconnect my second backup landline because it was receiving over 20 harassing robocalls per day. My primary landline is now facing the same problem, averaging 10+ robocall and spam interruptions daily. At this point, the constant harassment is actively affecting my family’s stress levels and overall well-being.
Most of these calls use spoofed, anonymous, or invalid caller IDs. On the rare occasions I reach a live person, I have demanded to be removed from their lists well over 100 times. It makes absolutely no difference.
I now have to keep Caller ID active full-time just to monitor and screen this nonstop abuse.
With today’s technology — including STIR/SHAKEN authentication, traceback consortiums, carrier analytics, and federal anti-spoofing regulations — there is no reason customers should still be subjected to this level of anonymous robocall harassment. The technology clearly exists to aggressively filter, flag, authenticate, or trace these calls at the carrier level.
So why are paying customers the ones forced to surrender their phone numbers while carriers accept virtually no responsibility?
I would like to know:
• What are the absolute strongest robocall blocking options Verizon offers for traditional and digital landlines?
• Can Verizon completely block unauthenticated or spoofed calls from ever ringing through?
• When customers report repeated harassment, what actual tracing or enforcement actions does Verizon take against the originating networks?
• Why are customers expected to tolerate this level of abuse indefinitely?
I’d genuinely appreciate hearing from anyone who has successfully fought back against this without being forced to disconnect their longtime phone numbers.
At this point, it feels like customers are paying monthly bills simply to fund their own harassment.
