I am trying to get my old phone number back as it is linked to a lot of my stuff without it. I can’t access emails social medias and important documents. I was wondering if I could buy it back or how that works
Phone numbers go up for recycling after 50 or so days. If it's been less than that, you can ask for the number back. If it's been more than 50 days, Verizon would have to check if the number is still available.
Were you postpaid and otherwise aren't with Verizon currently? If so, your old account is in "winback" status for about 45 days post disconnection, and you can have your account reinstated. Make sure whomever you talk to knows how to process a "winback" because I've read of some horror stories where it wasn't done correctly.
If you were prepaid, you'd have to get a new prepaid account.
