I've been a Verizon Wireless customer for over 25 years. Customer Service has declined as far as supporting the consumer unless you are buying a new phone or line. I recently had a phone number removed and am existing number moved to a newer phone on my account. The four people I spoke to never mentioned that a phone buyout would be billed on the newer phone because the cancelled line was originally connected to that device. The phone was on a charge then credit plan creating no charge for the phone. Even though we are using that phone and have other lines, Verizon says they cannot transfer the payment plan within an account, only if we open up a separate account. Verizon doesn't tell you the cell phone cost follows the phone number, not the device. Now I'm stuck paying an $800 buyout for a "free" phone. I guess customer loyalty only flows ones way. I'm currently looking for a new company to transfer all my line to. My family is going to follow suit.
