I would like to submit a product feedback request for the Verizon Family and Gizmo Watch team.
The previous GizmoHub app allowed a non-account-holder parent or caregiver to be assigned Guardian/Caregiver permissions, regardless of which wireless carrier they used. This allowed divorced or separated parents to text, video call, and fully communicate with their child through the Gizmo Watch.
Since the migration to Verizon Family, adults who are not on the same Verizon wireless billing account can only be assigned the Member role. As a result, many parents can no longer text or video call their child and are limited to voice calls only.
This creates a significant problem for co-parenting families. It is very common for divorced parents to maintain separate wireless accounts, even when both parents use Verizon. Restricting Guardian permissions to members of the same billing account removes functionality that previously existed and negatively impacts communication between children and both parents.
Please consider restoring Guardian or Caregiver permissions for invited adults outside the Verizon billing account, or provide a dedicated Co-Parent role that allows messaging, video calling, and other Gizmo Watch communication features without requiring both adults to share the same Verizon billing account.
This would restore functionality that many families relied upon and better support the needs of modern co-parenting families.
