Oh c'mon guys? Is it that hard to believe that someone received their phone today? It seems today will be the first day the phones are delivered.
My boss' Iphone is out for delivery in our city right now and it should be here by 10:30 a.m. (UPS). I will be running down to mailroom in our office to get it at that time. LOL! I think I am more excited about the iPhone than my boss is.
It is beautiful! Can you tell me what comes with the iphone? Do you get a charger with it? I would assume so, but I never thought to check when I placed my order.
Woo Hoo!!!!!! Yay!!!! Have fun today with your phone!!!!
i cannot WAIT to see the big brown truck pull into the parking lot at my job lol i'm gonna be so tuned out at work today...*sigh* and i'm not going to get any homework done tonight lol
Remember that feeling you got on Christmas Eve when you were 6 years old?..............I've got it!!!!!!
Also, can you disassemble the phone (taking pics along the way)

OK...what are fingertips? I mean, I know what finger tips are, but how do they relate to the iphone??
Also, I'm VERY jealous! I can't wait until mine gets here! I'm pacing and keep checking the front door. I heard a school bus and got all excited thinking it was the fed ex truck!
Xanax.....?

I'm just assuming he meant like fingerprints, which the iPhone is very much known for!
I hate this waiting game!!
I'm happy for you...but look what I got when I just checked my UPS site. Lame UPS....Lame

Brief overview of the steps? I assume you had to do this via iTunes? Would there have been anyway to immediately activate the phone on a line different from the one you bought it for?
congratulations - i'm going from blackberry to iphone (supposed to be today before 10:30 AM). How long did the activation take? Any glitches/surprises activating via iTunes?
On a day like this it is anyone's guess what time the delivery will be.
It is already a monday, which I personally think, tends to be a tad busier as the first day of the business week. Add the considerable to huge volume of pre-order Apple product ... whether or not they have some extra staff for the day ... who knows.
On one of these types of days where you eagerly wait for delivery (forgot which product launch), a driver stopped by after hours and when I said I was happy to see him, that he must have had a busy day; he said I was his last stop on the way back in. Which meant I literally was the last right turn delivery he'd make for the day before going in. He drove past in the morning going out of town, but had his route mapped out and a truck full of boxes.
So, if you are scheduled for delivery today ... it will come, but it could be late, after office hours.
One hint, based on experience of not being able to get to the door fast enough or them not ringing the door bell (my usual guy honks twice on the way in) assuming nobody is home:
I typed up a note " I am home for delivery " in large font and taped it to the front door next to the door bell.
Just to make sure whoever it was delivering would ring the door bell and give me an extra couple seconds to get to the front door.

So funny... I read and read about how FedEx guys are contractors and make money based on efficiency... how many packages in how much time... and then they pull that kind of stuff... I've experienced very similar

UPS: about 15M packages a day, Fedex, about 8 million a day. Don't think the additional 100,000 between them will make a difference!
Just activated my phone and there is a new software update for your phone which is going to take about 75min depending on your download speeds.

That would just be a drop in the bucket then, but I've heard (unofficially of course) pre-order sales were over 1 million. And, I would take into account regional variations; that these shipments may go out to more rural / extra urban areas which tend to be verizon strongholds, in my personal experience of the att iphone not working. I know all to well that if you want the strongest signal in Maine, vzw has you covered. Anway. I was just trying to share some previous launch experience; where the staff would tell me it was crazy with all those Apple packages on one day ... and the vzw iphone 4 launch does represent extra volume on top of regular deliveries.
How was the activation process? Smooth? Did you (like me) buy the phone on an upgrade that wasn't for your line?
Mine will be here later today! I am so excited!!!
got mine as well. 9:40 San Diego, CA charging it as we speak have to go to the verizon store at lunch. Can't use Itunes at work to activate. : (
