I can see the 3G network, but cannot connect through that either. Error code WMC604
toughbook wrote:My Pantech will not work, I called customer service and was told there is a 4G Nationwide outage. Is anybody else seeing this?
4G service is indeed out at the moment due to updates; this will also impact 4G devices in general. You will not be able to gain access to them, even for 3G service, until the service is brought up again.
yep
Just got off the phone with VZ support and there is no eta yet...
I am using the diagnostics mode of Vzam - set to 1xRTT (1G) with non-mobile IP address - max rate < 200 kbps. In 3G, I get the WMC 671 error.
It is out here in Phoenix AZ, the 3 Tech Reps I spoke to last night did not mention a natiion wide outage but set up a ticket to look at my area. My brand new 4510L is only seeing 3G last night and this AM
It seems to be impacting both 3G/4G I am in milwaukee and today can't connect to 3G getting error WMC604. Was working fine all week. So is this a network issue or is it something local to my system?
Glad to know I'm not the only one experiencing this issue! Cannot connec to 4G or 3G in Spring Hill, Tennessee
says solved, but mine is still not working
But the question was: Is there a Nationwide outage? That appears to have been answered, YES
Mine (3G) still doesn't work even though this site says "solved".
Carbondale, Illinois
outage here in California as well. i love paying for a monthy service that doesn't exist. I'm only extra upset because my work depends on my connection, especially while I travel.
Stillwater, Oklahoma: Out as of 12:30am last night. Can't find a 4G signal. Does find 3G and 1x, but WMC604 error on 3G (haven't tried 1x, but might).
Cheers,
Looks like it is Nationwide. It is also out here in Alexandria, VA, (both 4G and 3G) I've only been able to connect 1x all day.
and to think it was just me this morning that was wondering why I wasn't getting data synch on the thunderbolt in the Northern Virginia area.
Oh well, just a nice reminder of how reliant we are on technology I guess.
Toughbook; Once again I'm sitting in a Krystal to make a connection I'm NOT getting for $50.00 / month.
I too have to make my living connected to the internet. We could insist on docking them a piddling $1.32
for the lack of service. The agrivation it might cause their billing dept might give me a little satisfaction.
As of 6:00 PM I'm still not connecting. If this goes on beyond today, I'm going to try and raise some serious Hell.
Mine is out in the Phoenix, AZ area. I can't connect to 3G or 4G. I couldn't connect last night either. The phone said it had a 4G connecton, but I couldn't get connectivity to the internet or any apps. Now the phone doesn't show any connectivity.
Why is this marked as solved - my Samsung 4G LTE Hotspot is nothing but a paperweight at the moment - not even getting 3G at this point. What is going on?
3G seems solid here in Phoenix/Chandler, but 4G has no signs of life yet. Down for the count!
Little after 8:00 pm here in San Antonio...trying to get on since this morning and still no 4G using the VL600 4G Modem. Getting error message WMC671. I purchased the modem 20 Mar. Working beautifully till today. I am kinda relieved its nationwide not just me. I'm optimistic a patch will get done...we'll see. Otherwise I see middle-east style uprising.
According to Verizon Support.... 4G Service is out nationwide. They didnt tell me why it was out, but that it was out.
The outage effect ALL 4G devices, regardless as to whether it is seeing a 4G or 3G signal. So even though you may like I am, are seeing a 3G signal (Samsung 4G Hotspot), it doesn't work. BTW, I've never seen a 3G light lit on my device before, but of course it is bogus since it doesn't actually work.
3G only devices are NOT effected. So if you have a Droid or some other typical phone with 3G, that should be working.
If you have a Thuderbolt... no data as it is a 4G device.
I suspect this has to do with the network that the 4G devices use. It is Nat'd unlike the 3G devices which have an actual real IP. I suspect that whatever they are doing, is effecting the network that all 4G devices use, so even 3G doesn't work with them.
Both 3G and 4G out for me at 9:51pm here in Philadelphia. Is there a single source of status information available from VZ? Might have saved me a reinstall....
The last bit of news I heard from a statement from Verizon is that "When" it is corrected it will start working in sections, not all at once. My 3G started working around 7:00 on my Pantech and also my embedded card in another laptop. Maybe it has started, who knows?? BTW, I am in the Atlanta area.
Poor communication for a communication service company as today when I received my brand new Thunderbolt I noticed that it was connecting only with 1x. I promptly called VZ tech support who amazingly seemed to know nothing of the nationwide G4/ G3 problem??!!

Doubt you got tech.. tell them to check the alerts

national outage. no ones will work. it won't revert to 3g when the 4g signal is down
It is very understandable for us to be upset. When somebody pays for a service, they expect it to be delivered. With that being said, how many things in our daily lives do not ever have problems? Were you upset when your car was at the dealer getting repaired for something? Dishwasher broke lately? Get my point? Verizon is a company that sells us a service, and that service is in no way a type of technology that we can "expect" to work 24/7 365 days a year. There are a multitude of devices that are involved in this system. It could have been a major electronic device that has never gone out before like this? This piece of hardware could be in Montana for all we know that knocked the system out, while the new part is in New Jersey being flown as we speak. Who the heck knows? I don't, that's for sure. It will come out one day what it was that failed, or what the actual problem was.
We live in a " I want it now world " And that can be awesome for 99% of the time. But that 1% can be a real bummer for sure.
I am on your side, believe me. We just have to sit back and look at the whole picture and put it in perspective. We all survived today, we made it home to our families. That is something that A LOT of people cannot say today for obvious reasons. Our troops come to my mind.
Thanks for the time.
Alright, so crap happens. If you're not dealing with the lovely Comcast reps, or Dell's support, or the USPS, or any other company for some sort of issue... you must be sleeping. There will always be issues with everything that we deal with in life, and we shall deal accordingly. Don't get me wrong, I'm not happy at all that my new Thunderbolt is basically useless (sure, I can make calls... but I didn't buy this thing for its "call making goodness"). I have not been able to get 3G even after trying the various tips from the web, and the 0.5G (or whatever) is in and out.
So, if VZ can fix this within 24 hours, I'm fine - as long as it's not happening all the time. When the LTE network is up, there is not a wireless device anywhere that can even come close to the speeds I get.
Now... what does anger me more than anything is VZ's complete and intentional lack of communication!! Almost a full day has passed since the outage occurred and what do we, as paying customers, know? Not a darn thing... I'm glad to hear that they're "aware of the situation and working on it", but is that not a bit obvious? I'd be far less upset if they were willing to be upfront with us and share some (not necessarily all) details -- why? how? etc.
Seems a bit odd that a communications company posts a few worthless words on Twitter and thinks that's enough....
Currently appears to be restored in Wisconsin....
I JUST got 3G connectivity back in Los Angeles - still no 4G however.
4g in Phoenix is back up. Can't realy test 3G since there is no way with the hotspot to force that to test it. I've never even seen the 3G light come on until earlier today and of course it didn't work.
Ping seems a bit high, but the speeds were in the ballpark of what I've seen in the past.
Still out in South Carolina this morning
Monkey, I don't get this whole Twitter thing and big companies. It's like they are using it to keep there voice be heard, but when something bad happens that is the only place that they release info. Over the Spring Break time when all those huge storms blew thru, we were down at our lake house at Lake Sinclair. Down power lines, etc, it was a huge mess. The only information and the only to find anything out about getting your power back on was thru Twitter!
Oh well. My Pantech running 3G at the moment is working. I will try the 4G in about 45 minutes.
Ok so I have one of the infamous SCH-LC11 modems. It has sucked ever since I got it. I had been getting frequent 4G drop outs, even after upgrading the firmware. As in, I'd still be able to ping the air card, but not any "outside" addresses. The card wouldn't also automatically switch to 3G. I'm guessing this was because it still technically had a 4G "signal", but the traffic wasn't being routed correctly.
Well, as you are all aware, two nights ago at around 2AM the 4G completely cut out. Woke up yesterday morning to discover that the WHOLE 4G network was down, but the card wouldn't even connect to 3G (SIM card registration issue?). I finally got 3G back on my Thunderbold at around 3PM Pacific yesterday. When I got home last night I saw that the air card was on 3G, and the slow speeds confirmed this.
I finally have 4G back on my Thunderbold and air card, and the connection stability seems dramatically improved, as do browsing speeds. HOWEVER, it appears that uploads are capped at around 384kbit. I'm pulling almost 10MBit down, so I know I'm not on 3G.
Anyone else seeing this?
Still out in SC as of 9:50 AM - no new Twitter updates either, unless I've missed one.
The WAN side of my MIFI 4510L has always had a 10. private IP since I activated it. The network is back up and speeds are decent and I now have a public IP on the WAN side. Things seem to be working better than ever. I wonder if they have swapped from private to public IPs on the 4G/3G network?
8:30 AM, 4/28 - Far NorthEast Texas - My area is 3G and 3G is is back. Had to call 2nd tier tech as my connections would only last about a minute. Tech reset my connection? and everything is back to normal? Been following the thread(s) here with 1X and my dialup (24k). Glad to have 3G back!
Tech said he did not have an answer for what happened, but said they were mighty busy yesterday!
Tom
PanTech UML290
4G LTE up and running. Thank you for your patience.
Mine is really low on upload speed as well, not above 500kbps... download is between 5-7mbps though. I am showing 2 bars but before yesterday even with 2 bars i was getting about 5mbps up...
Still no 4G LTE in Houston
To determine the root cause of these 4G issues, troubleshooting must be done on an individual basis. Please PM me with your wireless and contact numbers so we can reach out in order to better assist you.
Thanks.
Holy cow.
4G is back on in Houston with a VENGEANCE!
34401kbps down
5603kbps up
My soul is complete again.
