Motorola Devour Compass

Whenever I go into SETTING>Location & Compass it asks me if I want to calibrate my compass. I do it for both ways, it tells me its calibrated. Then when I try to do something it asks me again if I want to calibrate my compass. Why does it keep asking me to do this and is there any problem if I choose not to calibrate and just skip this?

I apologize for the inconvenience you are currently having with your new android device. I have listed a couple of troubleshooting steps we can try to resolve this issue below. Please let us know if this does not solve your proble.

1. Have you tried to un-install the application then re-install it?

2. Also have you tried to do a hard reset your device by removing the battery then installing it after 30 seconds?

3. Can you try to update your roaming capabilities by dialing *228 then selecting option 2?

my daughter has this phone and in order to calibrate the compass I had to take it outside in the yard. Also, we turned GPS on in settings. Once we did this google maps was able to pinpoint our location and we have not had to recalibrate the compass.
