anyone else having issues with 3g service in manhattan? its been like this for atleast 3 weeks now. data is unusable. even when it does show a 3g signal.

First, have you tried turning data roaming on? It won't charge you anything unless you go outside of the US. Next have you tried forgetting/resetting all of your network settings and re-doing them? That appears to have been a fix.
Also you may want to do a hard reset on the phone press the sleep and home buttons at the same time for 20 seconds or until the phone shows the apple logo. Report back!
thanks for the reply. yes, i have my data roaming on already. i have reset network settings and have gone as far as restoring the phone. this is terrible. just tried to run another speed test. and its depressing.
Might wanna take it into apple/verizon.
my speeds are ok at my home however, so im guessing it isnt the hardware. but i would like some confirmation from someone else in manhattan if they are having speed issues as well.
