Is there anyway to manage your contacts on the computer rather than only on your phone? I need the ability to edit them so I can update names and information?
Thanks
1. Make sure you recently sync'd MobileMe before starting.
2. Plug in your iPhone and uncheck syncing Calendar, Contacts, and Mail. click apply.
3. Make sure all your contacts on your device is removed.
4. Setup MobileMe through your Mail app
5. Then go to settings --> Mail,Contacts, Calendar
6. Choose MobileMe
From there you can turn on Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Bookmarks, and Notes. You can also turn on Find My iPhone.
Edit : Any changes you do on your computer will show up on your device, and anything you do on your device will show up on your computer from that point on.
Depends on what you use for your contacts. If you use Outlook you should be able to manage your contacts as usual on the computer and then just sync your phone in iTunes to update. If you have MobileMe or use MS Exchange then you should be able to sync over the air.
I have mobile me. Where do I go to edit them from there? Can you just pull up a program or is it on the internet?
If you have MobileMe (not just the free "Find my phone" feature from MobileMe) then you should try logging into your account and seeing what the options are. I would think when you signed up for MobileMe it gave you some sort of guide on how to use all of it's features....either in the email confirmation or on the site itself.
Thanks, I went ahead and signed up for it. Now all I have to do is finish setting up all my contacts through the application.
Windows 7 doesn't come with outlook. Also $99 a year isn't that bad. Sure there's free alternatives but people never really read the ToU. They own all your information. If they ever go under you data goes to the new owner. Should read Googles one completely for example. That's how they make money... Off the information they provide to other people.
