LG Vortex won't start up

I have had my LG Vortex for about a month and have not had any problems out of it yet. This morning I went to turn it on and all it will show now is the Verizon Wireless screen; it won't start up. I have tried taking the battery out and restarting it and the same thing happens. Any ideas as to what is wrong with it?

Oh no! That's not good. It could be a number of things causing the phone not to power up. One thing I would suggest first is trying to boot your phone into safe mode:

Enabling Safe mode

Press and hold the Power button.
Select Power off.
Select OK.
Press and hold the Power button.
When the LG Logo appears on the screen, press and hold the Menu button.
Hold the Menu button until Safe mode appears in the left corner of the home screen.
This may take up to 30 seconds.

If the phone does boot up, then an application is causing this issue. If you have recently downloaded any applications uninstall them. If still having this issue, factory reset the device. You will need you Gmail info to setup the phone again.

Factory Reset option 2 - Warning this will reset device back to original factory settings, including any downloaded applications and contact information.

Turn off the phone
With the phone off, press and hold the Home key, Volume Down key and Power button.
1. If home/Volume down does not work - try holding - Home key and Volume Up and Power
When the LG logo appears, release only the Power button.
Release the Home key and Volume Down key when the Android icon appears.
Display will briefly show triage android screen robot and a progress bar
Display will flash LG logo and then change to Verizon Wireless screen
Device will power off and back on

Once wipe is complete; device will return to initial set up screen and select desired language

i did the favtory reset n now my phone needs reprogramed n the *228 wont allow it to be??? why???

Are you dialing *228, option 1 to reprogram your phone to the Verizon network?

Was the activation successful? If the *228 did not work, it may be due to your location. If you are in an extended network area, you will want to do a manual activation.
