Help activating replacement

My replacement Iphone came in the mail today from Apple since my first one, well lets say it took a bath. Im trying to set up the new one and deactivate the original one but im not sure what to do? I cant find an ESN number anywhere. Has anyone else been through this?

I'm just guessing but you probably activate it the same way you would a new phone (via iTunes on your computer). Try  looking at the following link to see if it helps (it says it's for activating a certified like new device but it probably works the same).
