Text reminder

Is there a setting to turn on a text reminder that will beep to remind you of a message instead of the blinking light? Or is there an app for it that I can download? I keep my phone in my pocket a lot and if I don't hear it or feel it vibrate I want something to remind me. I shouldn't have to look at my phone constantly to see.

there are definitely apps. i don't use them since i like the stock messaging program. i "believe" handscent is one of the more popular ones. not positive if it has the feature you are looking for. it's definitely annoying that you can't have the phone remind you of texts or emails w/o installing an app.

I don't really feel like digging them up right now but the search feature of this forum would be of use to you. I have answered this at least twice. And as I recall I got the answers I did by a Google search so the answer is out there. I can't remember them off the top of my head and I haven't ever needed it.

I use handcent and it does have that feature, although it uses the same notification sound so I'm always left wondering "What happened to that second text message?"
