Hey there community,
I was hoping someone out there in the internet would be able to help me understand and prepare to take over my own cell service!
Since my first cell phone, I have been a part of my Fathers verizon account. 5 months ago I checked myself into a rehab (alcoholic here) and I haven't had a cell since. This week I completed the four month aftercare program that I enrolled in after rehab. It's cell phone time again!!!
I told my father that I wanted to take over my cell service. He has talked to verizon/done whatever it is so I can call the assumption of liability line and I guess take that liability on to myself.
I have a few questions about this.....
I was hoping to get a new 4s and start a 2 yr contract while paying only 200ish. Does this AOL contract mean that I just skip in to wherever I am in my contract and am fully responsible for buying a new phone at full price?
Can I end that contract so I can just start one on my own?
One more thing.
I am 22 years old. I have never had a credit card and to my knowledge don't have bad credit. Never bounced a check or forgot to pay utilities or anything like that. Do I need to have a credit card when I walk into verizon to get a new phone?
Thanks friends!
