Activating New Verizon phone and changing number

I am looking at getting the new LG Extravert but when I asked about it in the Verizon store they said I would have to pay like $250 and change my number to get it

I do want to change my number anyway but the phone I want is $99.98 at Walmart. So What I am asking is if I buy the phone at Walmart. How do I change my account information over and then change my number

How do I change my account information over and then change my number Before you change your phone number back up all your contracts and information, once your number is switched to the new phone you will lose all the information. You can change your account online go to my Verizon, if you have a problem getting the number to port over call customer service at 1-800-922-0204 and they will beable to port over the number.

You can also switch handsets by dialing *228 from your handset, and you can switch phones that way too. All you need to know is your phone number and password.

jarrett178, the LG Extravert VN271 is a great choice. If you are currently eligible for an upgrade or looking to add an additional line of service, the device is $79.99 after the $50.00 Mail-in-Rebate (VZW pricing). The full retail price is $209.99 if you are not eligible for an upgrade. Walmart may have different pricing for the device; however, to receive the most discounted pricing for the LG Extravert you must be eligible for an upgrade or start a new line of service (even if you purchase it at Walmart).

Additionally, the suggestions the community provided about the number change is correct. You may also change your number by logging on My Verizon and select "Change Mobile number".
