Receiver on phone does not work....

Yesterday I was using my iphone 4 to make and receive calls, and working properly. Today I try to make a call and the receiver part of my phone is not working, the other person can hear me, but I can not hear who I am speaking to, and yes the in-call volume is all the way up. The only way to actually have a convo with someone is to put them on speaker. Does anyone know how to fix this? PLEASE HELP?!?!?!

Have you tried the usual troubleshooting steps? Restart/Reset/Restore device? You might also try plugging in a pair of earphones and then unplugging them to see if that helps. Some times, some people have reported problems with their phone not working correctly due to the phone acting as if the earphones are still plugged in...I can't recall what exactly the issue was...might have been something inside of the earphone port or some piece inside not working correctly. Not sure if this your situation at all but it won't hurt to try. If all else fails you might need to contact Apple or VZW to have it checked out for possible warranty covered replacement.

Unfortunely, this does not solve my problem because I put in a earplug and removed it, the next call I had it was working, but the call after it did not work again. It seems that I might have to take it in to a verizon store to solve the problem for good. Thank you for you help kaebfly

Same issue here I believe. I'm about to update to 5.0.1 and see if that helps.

Same issue apple tech fixed it by going inside the phone.
