Did anyone get the new update? And did it work ok for your iphone?
Yes and Yes
Yes and yes. Update to 5.0.1 went well, installed correctly, no error messages, etc. Did a battery test afterwords with the time zone setting on and it did make a difference. With 5.0 the phone would go from 100% to 95% battery in 1 hour with time zone setting on and no apps running. After upgrade battery went to 99% after an hour. Location services set to the same for all apps before and after test.

Updated this morning and the only issue I'm having is that there isn't a "1" in front of my contacts' phone numbers. This causes text messages and phone calls to come thru showing only the phone number and not the name. Went to Apple and they said to call 800-myapple. 800-myapple said to call *2278 which is an unfunctioning Verizon number. Help!

Perhaps they meant for you to call *228 and choose option 2...
I have the 4S and the update actually decreased my battery life from iOS 5.0, hopefully they'll fix it soon.

I think you're the only person (so far) that I know of to say 5.0.1 decreased their battery life from 5.o....
Apple has reportedly delayed the release of iOS 5.0.2, German-language technology blog Macerkopf.de said on Monday. Rumors surfaced last week suggesting that Apple was preparing to release the update, which is expected to address poor battery life with iOS 5, out of the door before the end of this week. Macerkopf.de said iOS 5.0.2 has been delayed to fix “address-based memory leaks,” or bugs that cause apps to consume memory without releasing resources once they are no longer needed. A new release date for iOS 5.0.2 has reportedly not yet been scheduled.
I did the 5.0.1 (9A405) yesterday and now my music will not play? Its there in new app under music, but no sound and the tracking bar at top showing time as a negative i.e. 0:00 -2:38 and doesn't move. Arrow at top right shows when you hit >?
Pandora work fine so I'm getting sound output.
Not sure about anything else not working.
Any ideas out there???
May seem like a nuisance but are you willing to do a backup through itunes and then restore your phone and then reinstall from your backup? It should resolve the problem your having. Hopefully someone knows a better way.
