Please ensure that you are in an area with sufficient network coverage by entering your ZIP code at VZW Coverage Map. If you are in a well covered area and the issue continues ensure that your Roaming Data Connection is enabled, also enable your phone's WiFi feature, then so a soft reset (remove battery and re-insert after 20 seconds) and try to update your device's software again.

force it to 1X (cdma only) and try. it's the only way my device would ever find the updates.
