still asking whats wrong with the droid????????

a couple days ago a posted a question WHATS WRONG WITH THE DROID? Why you may ask well ihave an upgrade i can get on my line and i was ready to get that upgrade about a week ago and i visited a verizon store where a sales rep. gave me a 30 miinute speech on why not to get the droid. After that 30 min talk he gave me another 30 min talk on how i should get the storm 2 because its better in every way. huh? I was one of the first to get the storm last year and i was a big fan dispite all the problems and all the waiting for new os upgrades. When i heard that the storm 2 was days away from launch i was so excited to get it couldnt wait,but then this other phone came out the droid and after hearing all kinds of good reviews i was sure to leave the storm 2 behind and go for the droid. thats where the second visit to the verizon store comes in since the first time i was talked and maybe convinced by the rep in to no getting the droid i decided to go to another store. BAD IDEA! As soon as i got in a sales rep walked up and asked "what can i do for you "? i told him i wanted to upgrade and i wanted the droid no questions asked. everything was going great he brought the phone from the back and was ready to set me up when another rep walks to the computer next to us with a customer that is returning a droid because in his words "its the worst ......phone ever "he was trading to a storm 2 so again i left the store undecided i appologised to the rep and left still with out upgrading my line. now i know everybody will probably hate mefor doing that and will think im going on with this but i want the right phone for me and from what i can see they both do alot of the same but at the same time they are different phones i am UNDECIDED forum community please HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLP!!!!!!!!!!!

Between the two, it really comes down to a matter of preference. I have a lot of BlackBerry friends that swear by the Storm2 and say that the Droid is horrible. I also have friends that have the Droid and some say the Storm 2 sucks. I'm coming up on my renewal soon and have gone back and forth many times between the two devices and they both seem equally good to me. I've played with both of them in the store for hours and figure I can't go wrong either way. Here's the thing: Go play with both of them. Watch some video reviews of both of them and pick the one you'd like. Don't let any salesperson tell you which you should get based on their "experience". A lot of times, sales folks will bend the facts for some sort of gain for themselves. I used to be a salesperson in a large electronics store and woud catch other salespeople pushing folks away from what they wanted just to get them to buy something that brings more comission, even when I knew the "better" product wouldn't do what they needed. Me correcting that is why I used to be a salesperson...

Why don't you wait for the alleged update coming to the Droid. Then see what people think. That's what I'm doing.

Nothing is wrong with it that I can see. I have had mine for about 10 days. So far I have determined that it is a computer that just happens to have a phone function included. To date it has done what I have asked it to do. I do not see how you can really determine which phone is best without owning all of them in turn for at least a week or so. As this does not seem practical I would read the reviews at web sites that do this, then buy whichever phone seems to work best for you. In my case what I needed was a really small computer that could also act as a phone now and then. As I said the Droid does this just fine.

I have taught computer for 15 years. Just got a Droid and I love it. I discribe it as a computer that you can make calls on. I got the upgrade and it is too cool. My hubsand got one and was speaking to someone who has the iphone. After speaking to him and comparing phones it was a no brainer. The google maps that is FREE, the pinch screen, 3D photo gallery and the speech to text is all too cool.I don't know if you know it but Version conducts classes on the Droid. My store does them the second Saturday of the month. Why don't you go to one and ask all your questions. I'm sure Version won't mind if it means keeping a customer. I don't know about the storm or if they do classes on it. I upgraded from my backberry with ATT. I feel like I died and went to heaven with the great connectivity and tools. Hope this helps

You could also just get the Droid and try it out. You have 30 days with any Verizon phone to see if you like it or not. And if you decide you would rather have the blackberry, just go back within 30 days and get the blackberry. Even if you do that and decide you liked the Droid better you could return the blackberry and get the Droid again. I have done that before with other phones.

THis thread was posted 12/7. I suspect he has made up his mind and bought a phone by now.
