Call Waiting Distinctive Ring/Beep

As most of you may know, if you have call waiting enabled and you are on a call and someone else (from the Verizon network) call's you, they get a beep on their end indicating that the other person is on a call. I believe it's called a "Distinctive Ring", is there any way to have that disabled? I called CS and they said they do not disable that anymore, is this true?

Yes. Call for tech support and have it removed, they can remove that on their end, just let the CS rep know it's a tech issue that they can't fix "Most people don't know about it"

Thanks for following up with us here.

Customer service was correct. We are not able to remove the distinctive ringtone feature from the account.

I actually have ringback tones set up for my daughter and when I call her I just hear the song being played like normal. There is nothing to indicate that she is on a call. Perhaps that may be an option for you if you don't want people to know when you are on a call.
