Droid on NCL Cruiselines

We are going on a cruise in a few days and we have picked up the GlobalEmail plan for two of our phones so that we have data service on the cruise. I am to understand that onboard NCL Cruiselines, WMS is partnered with Verizon to provide voice services to CDMA and GSM phones, and data service for GPRS capable phones. My curiosity then becomes, does the Droid support GPRS as the Blackberry does, or am I out of luck and do I need to cancel the GlobalEmail plan on my Droid? Or, am I wrong on the GPRS bit for the cruise data service?

or more important, do they have wi-fi hotspots where you can just connect through wi-fi?

I brought my Android phone on the NCL cruise with me. What I did was basically enable airplane mode. That cut off all wireless connections. GPRS is internet....so you should be able to get internet while on the trip. When I was on NCL Jade there was wifi available in a certain area but of course you had to pay to use it. There may be some wifi spots off the ship in the ports you visit that offer free wifi.
