Love Verizon...but, Why are they So Rude?

We have been Verizon customers for many, many years. We've never missed a payment and they just called said we had an outstanding balance of $36.00. After checking we found it was an over-site on our part. Our Bad!

That being said, the guy from financial services that called was SO RUDE you would have thought we owed them $1000!!! Geez, $36 Bucks we overlooked and we get treated like crap. Makes us want to move to another company but we're stuck with them for 2 more years. Now we are sorry we resigned with them. Terrible Customer Relations!!

SuzyQ... No, the $36 was NOT on my bill for "some time". I am a AAA customer and have never been late before. You made an assumption there. That is the other reason this bothered us (along with the fact that the rep was rude). Please read the Header...we LOVE VERIZON! This was truly a very unusual thing for them to do and have since apologized to us. I have ALWAYS had good relations with them before, but this guy was just simply Unbelievable! At first I actually thought i was getting Punked by a friend or something!

We indeed understand people have bad days though... and after reading some of the responses here, I must say I was never rude back... i find that counterproductive. Thank you all for your comments.

Maybe the CS rep / Financial guy was having a bad day - if the $36 "oversight" had been escalated to Finance, it had been on your bill for some time, apparently.

No matter if the rep was rude or polite - if I made the mistake, and owed the money, I would simply pay it and move on. Definitely not worth the hassle of switching companies....

Well the way i see this after reading it yes they the customers maid a Mistake an should have contacted Financial Services. But that Rep need's to check Himself at the Door when he comes to work an not take it out on Customers that's what we rely on when we call in is there friendly Advice on our Bills an such. If it was something that stems from work or even at home he should get help from his Supervisor or Counseling or just let the Super Take over the Coversation . Loosing one Customer from a Hot headed Rep is not good for the Business.

This is true B33 but the rep is only human and sometimes your day does reflect on your reactions to things... I see your point but I also can understand SuzyQ point..

I can see how you feel about how the situation was brought to your attention but I cant say for sure the exact situation but I can say that I have had situation when a customer misread a body gesture or simple misplaced word that modified a important point.

If this was the first time you experience a situation like this I am assuming you have had a pleasant ex periance with the company so I would agree with Suzy to conciser just handling the mistake and step away from the table and move on to avoid more frustration.

Well so far my experiences with C.S. has been Very good an no issues. An sometimes when talking to a rep our conversations might stray from the subject in hand a little but not far. An the only thing i have had an issue with an this is minor is talking to a rep that i just couldn't understand.

Glad to hear an apology was offered and the issue has been resolved. You are correct - being "rude back" will more than likely NOT get you the results you want! Sorry if I jumped to conclusions (made an erroneous assumption) about the length of time the amount had been owed...
